So you get notified about your slot 8 months prior which ends up feeling like 8 years. Then you get here and guess what...more waiting. My last job had a pretty busy schedule most of the time, so I hate not having anything to do. It's nice being able to go to the gym whenever I want without having to worry about schedule conflicts. Tomorrow we spend all day with the flight docs and then the rest of the week is full of all the "fun inprocessing briefs", where you get a prize if you're able to stay awake through all of them.

So the all day fun with the docs was actually today. Yesterday was more briefings although these were kind of interesting because they were telling us about what to expect. We also got seperated into our flights and it turns out I'll be in Elvis flight. The best part of the day was when they showed one of those Air Force promotional videos (turn the volume up and click here to see it). Now I've seen plenty of these types of movies showing every kind of plane in the force and showing stuff blow up, but this time it seemed sureal with the knowledge that in a little over a year I could be flying one of those planes. Well more briefings tomorrow and we get to meet the OG/CC along with other members of base leadership. The Wolfpack plays Seaton Hall tonight but for now off to the gym.
So here we go...finally...after waiting for this opportunity since I was a kid...after knowing I was coming here in May...I get to start tomorrow. Today the OG/CC came by to talk to us and give us the standard base leadership welcome and he seemed like a pretty cool guy. After some other "fun" briefings we got issued out first set up pubs. I'd guess it's about 2500 pages worth of "light" reading...and by light I mean few picture, AFI type reading. This pack didn't even include most of our academic material which we will get at the end of the week. Well time to head to bed...the next updates will be in the phase I section and I'll also post some new pics...see ya.
